The “dillon brooks injury update” is a sports article that discusses the injury of Dillon Brooks. The article also talks about how Andre Iguodala was involved in the collision and how it led to Dillon Brooks being taken off the court.

Dillon Brooks Detonates on Andre Iguodala After Grizzlies Destroy Warriors

When the Memphis Grizzlies selected Ja Morant No. 2 overall in the NBA draft in the summer of 2019, they took the first step toward establishing a contender. The Grizzlies seemed to have a youthful and intriguing nucleus in Morant, Jarvis Jackson Jr., and Dillon Brooks, who might take the organization to new pastures. Andre Iguodala was not interested in any of it.

In June of this year, the Grizzlies acquired Iguodala from the Golden State Warriors. Iggy, on the other hand, refused to play for Memphis and sat out the 2019-20 season until being traded to the Miami Heat in February 2020.

The Grizzlies haven’t forgotten, to say the least.

On Monday night, Memphis thrashed the Warriors, making another another statement in a season in which the team has quickly realized its potential as a contender. Dillon Brooks, a Grizzlies winger, had harsh words for Iguodala after the game, criticizing him for his lack of forethought and professionalism.

As Dillon Brooks and the Grizzlies trounced the Warriors, the Memphis audience booed Andre Iguodala.

For weeks, the Grizzlies and Warriors have battled for the Western Conference’s No. 2 spot. Memphis, on the other hand, delivered the Dubs another message on Monday.

The Grizzlies thrashed the Warriors in a 123-95 thrashing after winning two of their first three games against them. Desmond Bane set the tone for Memphis, scoring 22 points and ending with a plus-minus of +31 in the game. The Grizzlies dominated the Dubs from the start, with Dillon Brooks and De’Anthony Melton both scoring 21 points.

It was a nightmare for the Warriors, who were without Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green due to injuries. Iguodala, in particular, was met with hostility.

When Iguodala entered the game late in the first quarter, Grizzlies supporters expressed their displeasure. With a three-pointer from the corner, the 2015 NBA Finals MVP briefly hushed the crowd, giving the Warriors a 16-13 lead at the time.

Memphis, on the other hand, swiftly grabbed leadership. The Grizzlies went on a 7-0 run to conclude the opening quarter and outscored Golden State 43-21 in the second to virtually win the game early.

Iguodala received some strays from Brooks at postgame news conferences after hearing it from Grizzlies fans.

After the game, Brooks slammed Iguodala.

When Iguodala wanted a trade in 2020, Brooks was one of the most outspoken Grizzlies players who targeted him. On Monday, he went after Iggy once again.

Memphis’ gritty and outspoken leader commented (h/t NBC Sports Bay Area) on Iguodala receiving boos from the crowd during the contest, saying the Grizzlies are better for having traded him.

“We all had the vision, except [Iguodala], which was ideal. Send him back to the Warriors and let him go on with his business.”

–Dillon Brooks, on the Grizzlies’ Andre Iguodala situation

It’s worth noting that Iguodala returned to the Heat for the rest of the 2019-20 season, and he also played for the Heat last season. However, Brooks’ basic opinion remains valid.

Iguodala was desperate to win right now. His love for the Warriors prompted him to join with the team prior to the summer. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, have made enormous strides in recent seasons, and they seem to be on the cusp of overtaking Golden State as Western Conference contenders.

To add to the intrigue, the two teams may meet in the playoffs.

The Grizzlies have all but locked up the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference playoffs with only six games left in the regular season. Is it a foregone conclusion that they’ll face the Warriors in the second round?

The Golden State Warriors are still in third place, albeit the Dallas Mavericks are just 1.5 games behind. If the Warriors hold the third seed, though, the Dillon Brooks-Andre Iguodala dispute might continue in the playoffs.

To be sure, the Grizzlies and Warriors would have to go through the first round. That isn’t a certain conclusion, particularly for Golden State.

The Warriors are presently set to face the Denver Nuggets in the first round, and the Nuggets are 3-1 versus the Warriors this season. Such a meeting has the makings of an upset, with Stephen Curry returning from injury and Golden State playing their poorest basketball of the season.

It’s still possible that Brooks and the Grizzlies will meet Iguodala and the Warriors. That would be a fantastic piece of theater.
