Michael Pittman Jr. Proves Matt Ryan Is Nothing Like Carson Wentz With Latest Comment

-

The Philadelphia Eagles are in trouble. Carson Wentz’s season-ending injury has forced Philly to turn to Michael Pittman Jr., who is not even on the team, for backup QB support. In his first appearance with the Eagles, Matt Ryan proved he’s nothing like Carson Wentz when it comes to playing football and winning games.

Michael Pittman Jr. recently made a comment on Twitter stating that Matt Ryan is nothing like Carson Wentz because he has been in the league for 10 years and has won MVP awards. Read more in detail here: matt ryan age.

Fans of the Indianapolis Colts are ready to move on from the Carson Wentz era. Given that I am a Colts fan, I can state this with absolute conviction. Michael Pittman Jr., a wide receiver, just added to the gap between the past and the future.

Pittman didn’t say anything negative about Wentz. His latest remark on new Colts quarterback Matt Ryan, on the other hand, demonstrated that the team’s newest gunslinger is nothing like the previous one.

Matt Ryan received great accolades from Michael Pittman Jr.

Matt Ryan is familiarizing himself with his new colleagues. After being traded to the Colts this offseason, the 2016 NFL MVP has been attending OTAs with the team.

Ryan has made a solid first impression on his No. 1 wide receiver, in addition to dazzling Colts veteran Reggie Wayne.

According to The Athletic, Michael Pittman Jr., who had over 1,000 receiving yards in his second NFL season in 2021, stated this week, “The ball is simply right there, and you just turn and grab the ball.” “It simply makes things easier.” Matt is free to install it pretty much anywhere he wants.”

This may seem to be a straightforward quote. Every quarterback should be allowed to put the ball anywhere he wants on the field. It does, however, serve to demonstrate that Ryan is nothing like Carson Wentz.

Matt Ryan will provide greater steadiness to the Indianapolis Colts.

In 2021, the Colts seemed to be a formidable playoff team, but they crumbled in the last two weeks of the season. And Carson Wentz went through a terrible stretch in the last eight games, failing to connect with his receivers (61.1 percent completion rate) and averaged only 170.6 yards per game.

Ryan is unlikely to face such difficulties.

Matty Ice’s stats were not as impressive in 2021 as they had been in previous seasons with the Falcons. That, however, was not his fault. He lacked many weapons, and his offensive line was a shambles.

Ryan was still one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

With 425 on-target passes, he was ninth in the league, and his on-target pass percentage was in the top ten in the league (78.1 percent ). Ryan also had the fifth-lowest rate of poor throws (14.5 percent ).

How does it stack up against Wentz? In terms of on-target percentage, the former Colts and Eagles quarterback rated 26th (73.7 percent ). He also had the sixth-worst rate of poor throws (18.8 percent ).

On the surface, Michael Pittman Jr.’s comment may seem insignificant. The Colts will be in much better condition in 2022 than they were last season if Matt Ryan continues to strike his targets.

Pro Football Reference provided the statistics.
